Pay with Bitcoin: Twitch offers a 10% discount for those who pay with cryptocurrencies

Twitch is the world’s leading platform for live video streaming, where users can watch their role models play various games such as League of Legends. So-called subscriptions give users access to exclusive content that can only be obtained by payment. Twitch is now offering a 10% discount if these subscriptions are paid with cryptocurrencies.

10% for payments with cryptocurrencies
From now on, Twich users who purchase a subscription will receive a 10% discount if they pay with cryptocurrencies. This is made possible by working with the payment service provider BitPay. BitPay is a Bitcoin payment service provider that was founded in 2011 – long before the name Bitcoin came into the mainstream. The company offers its customers the easy way to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment. On the specially created landing page, users receive all information about the offer. If you choose “BitPay” during the payment process, you get 10% on your purchase. BitPay supports the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), 4 USD-covered stablecoins GUSD, USDC, PAX, BUSD and Ripple (XRP).

Twitch has been using crypto payment in the past
The Twitch video streaming platform, acquired by Amazon in 2014 for USD 1 billion, has already made it possible to pay with Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) in the past. This option was removed by the company in March 2019. Three months later, however, payment with cryptocurrencies was made possible again. The current offer should indicate that the payment with Bitcoin and Co. is permanent. It should also be noted that the offer is carried out directly by Twitch, according to the BitPay CMO.
