Discussions on protect-a-pet | | Uses for Petroleum Jelly | | Ever wonder what else you can use petroleum jelly for? Here are five uses:Protect your Pet - If your cat's or dog's paw pads are cracked and dry, rub a little petroleum jelly on them to soothe the discomfort.Wipe away Water Marks - Dap with petroleum jelly and let sit for 24 hours. Wipe off the excess and polish furniture as usual.Loosen up Outdoor Lightbulbs - Dirt and dust can cause outdoor bulbs to stick. Rub a little petroleum jelly on the threads of the bulb before you screw it in and it won't stick in the future.Sideline a Squirrel - Coat the pole of a bird feeder - squirrels won't be able to get at the food.Neaten Your Nail Job - Dab it on the skin around nails before polishing. If you make a mistake, the polish will easily wipe away.
| | woman bit a pitbull on the nose to save her dog | | A 'stray' pitbull jumped a fence and attacked a woman's labrador retriever, the woman after trying to get this dog off her dog turned animal instinct and bit the dog.http://www.startribune.com/local/17247504.htmlI feel for the woman and her dog because she didn't want to loose her dog, and did what she could to protect her pet, her friend, and now the dog is emotionally scarred....scared to go for walks,
>The pit bull was quarantined Wednesday by Minneapolis Animal Control after Rice's doctor told her of a possible rabies threat. She's unhappy the pit bull, named Frances, wasn't immediately corralled by animal control officers, who told her animals that attack other animals generally are not taken away. <So it takes a rabies scare to get a stray animal that attacks other animals quarantined? I'm sorry, if an animal like that attacks and it should be carted away immediately, I feel for the woman, who no potentially has to go through a series of rabies shots.A neighbor had picked the dog up off the streets and was waiting for a no kill shelter to come get the animal but she doesn't want to take responsibility for what the pitbull did.1) should...

| | Violent or Abusive People Who Take It Out In Their Pets | | I got this e-mail newsletter from PetPlace.com, and it really sickened me. We all know that sad to say, that there are many families who live in violent or abusive family backgrounds, and often it is recognizable when a person is suffering from an abusive spouse or other family member as there are usually telltale signs...the constant bruises for example. But according to this article the most silent of victims will quite often be the innocent family pet. The abuser, will often keep the family "at bay" by threatening to harm the family pet and thus, the other family members will keep silent. But this isn't always the case. Sometimes the abusive family member will take it out on the pet regardless, and create an atmosphere where the victim is afraid to leave as is stated here:I quote from the article:.."The Fear of Leaving....There are many reasons victims of violence are afraid to leave the abuser. Fear of being caught leaving, financial instability, not knowing where to go, and emotional connection to the abuser.
For those who have a pet who is also being abused, some do not know where to take the pet and are afraid to leave him behind with the abuser. Some abusers...
| | Help me Save my Pet fish!!!!! | | My pet fishes in my aquarium are dying one after another. Just with in two days of the cleaning, change of water etc, they die. For cleaning the walls I use a 'neutral' detergent but the water replaced is plain tape water from the PHD supply. I know they contain chlorine and may contain fungus, bacteria etc; so I add an anti-chlorine & also anti-fungus solutios .
But, in spite of that they die. The beautiful buttery type black ones and those of pink and shining silver colored die most.I maitain the water at around 25 degrees centigrade by special devices.
Friends, please help me and protect my pet from untinely death.
