Discussions on kiehl's for your shampoo
Kiehl's Blue Herbal Spot Treatment
While many of you seem to like creating your own potions, creams, and masks, I prefer buying products sold in stores. Not only do I enjoy browsing the shelves and comparing brands, I also like the feeling of success after having used a product that actually works. One such product is Kiehl's Blue Herbal Spot Treatment. The Blue line is supposed to be for acne with ingredients such as salicylic acid. This pimple medicine in particular has salicylic acid and cinnamon bark and ginger root extracts for oily, blemish-prone skin. I recommend this product for those with mild acne. I've had major breakouts and this doesn't work at all. But it's mild enough to use on small pimples and doesn't cause any skin irritations. I've uploaded an image for all to enjoy.
What are you favorite eye creams?
There are so many out there, that come with various promises, to lighten dark circles, to help with wrinkles and to bring down puffiness. It hard to believe all the hype. What eye cream do you use, and why?I switch off between a few actually. I use one from Kiehl's in the morning because it has a SPF15, at night I either use Aveda Tourmaline eye cream because it helps with puffiness or I use one from lancome which should help with lines. I don't have lines yet, but I like taking preventative measures right now.
all about cucumbers!!!
Fresh, crunchy cucumbers are not only low in calories and high in fiber -- they’re also full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can feed your complexion from inside and out. Here's how:Refresh and protect. Cucumbers contain vitamin C and caffeic acid, two antioxidants that, when applied to the skin, help fend off wrinkles, sun damage, and more. Vitamin C builds collagen and elastin, protein fibers that give skin its youthful plumpness. "Caffeic acid inhibits cancer cells and protects skin cells exposed to UV radiation," says New York dermatologist Amy Wechsler, MD. No wonder many spas offer hydrating face treatments made of crushed cucumber. Home version for kitchen divas: In a blender, barely puree half a cucumber and 2–3 tablespoons of plain yogurt -- it should be thick, not drippy. Pat all over your face and neck, sit back for about 15 minutes, then rinse, and relish how good your skin feels.Deflate puffy peepers. Chilled cucumber slices act like delicate mini ice packs, relieving puffy eyes. One reason: Cukes are 90% water, which helps them stay chilly even on hot spots. "Their cold minimizes the swelling by constricting the blood and lymph vessels that...
How to get rid of acne and acne scars
I've had acne problems since I was a teen and I haven't found long-term treatments. It really bothers me that pimples appear on my face (and sometimes other parts of my body as well) without me knowing why. I've tried sleeping early, exercising, and putting a lid on my chocolate bingeing. A few years ago, I tried using Proactiv and it worked for a while. After a dramatic improvement in my skin, I felt as if I hit a plateau where I had mild acne once in a while. Furthermore, I had lots of acne scars on my face which I had to cover up with concealer. Eeek! Being the perfectionist that I am, I tried switching to other brands hoping to find the perfect acne medicine. So far, I've used stuff from Mario Badescu and Kiehl's with not-so-great results. Both product lines are a hit-or-miss; sometimes the pimple goes away and sometimes they don't. So, I'm on the lookout for other brands to try. Anyone have suggestions?:)
