| | dog shampoo that cuts down on shedding | | My husband said he saw this dog shampoo that is suppose to cut down on their shedding..Unfortunately it was like 13 or 14 dollars a bottle and I am not prepared to spend that kind of money unless it really works well..My dog, being a white German shepherd is shedding bad now, and it is not even summer yet, so I am not looking forward to that..So do you or someone you know tried this before and does it work? Is it worth the money? And what ingredient does this shampoo have to cut down on the shedding? Because if there was a home made remedy, I would rather do that.. | |

| | One Thing that You Plan to Learn This Year. | | Do you have a particular thing you wish to learn this year? For me, I am hoping to pick up drawing again. If not, then I might start a new language (i.e. Spanish). Nothing is really solidly planned though, I go with the flow most of the time. What about you? Have you already planned on that one thing you wish to learn this year? | |

| Flea control inquiries.. | | I am curious about flea control drops that you get from the vet. Supposedly you put these drops on the back of their neck and on their back in front of their tail..My question is, how does this repel fleas? Are these two spots like a roadway to the dog and so it makes it impossible for them to get fleas? Because before this, usually flea products you have to cover the dog, not just a couple spots..The reason I am asking, and though I am not 100% sure if maybe we are not heavy into the flea season yet or not, but my puppies don't have fleas. (Trust me, I have had enough animals with fleas to know what to look for) So maybe the season is still to early, but I want to let you know what I have been doing. For one, when they get a bath, I use a shampoo that has lavender in it. Then, after they are completely dry I take this spray bottle with lavender oil and water and I spray it on those spots I mention earlier, the neck and tail. I reapply the spray once a week and whenever they get wet from the rain and so far there are no fleas.Do you think it is too early in the season? Because my daughters dog already had gotten a tick on her..(She forgot to apply her "vets" flea... | |
| | For Dog Owners: Oatmeal Shampoo For Dogs | | I was wondering, for dog owners on mylot, what type of shampoo do you think is appropriate for dogs with sensitive skin?I have a dog that can only use Oatmeal Shampoo. Believe me, we tried different types for sensitive skin but she tends to have rashes and sometimes, her skin has "dry flakes" in reaction to other types of shampoo. It seems like the only one she can use is Oatmeal. At times, the store doesn't have it so we have to go to a number of shops to find the particular type that she can use. I've also tried green tea shampoo but that didn't cut it either. So, if anyone has had a dog with similar issues, what's your remedy and what advice can you give?Thank you in advance. | |
